Gradients are very flexible and allow you to artistically add color to your page. Let us show you how to create borders/title strips with pops of color. Objective: Use and edit a straight gradient to add pops of color to your borders and title strips.

Video Notes:

Add a background or background color to the page
Add photos to the page in a horizontal strip or in block formation filling the width of the page
Insert> Content> Shapes> Rectangle
- Make the width 12.5 inches
- Make the height 1 – 1.5 inches
- Position rectangle over the top edge of the photo(s)
  - Allow to bleed off the page
- Click Create
With the rectangle selected, go to Quick Access Toolbar > Fill> Color Gradient> Straight
- Check Preview on page
- Click the Color blend bar a little before halfway
  - Click the color tab
  - Select a color
- Click the Color tab on the far right
  - Fill with the same color as the halfway tab
- Click the Color blend slider at four locations between the first and second color tab
  - Fill the first tab and the 4 new tabs with colors sampled from your photos and background
- Click OK
With the Rectangle selected, go to the Quick Access Toolbar, use either of the rotate arrows and click twice to flip the border
- Position across the bottom edge of the photos
Insert> Text> Text
- Position a text box across the right side of the top border
