Want a quick and easy way to showcase your favorite colorful patterned papers while telling your story? This Quick Page technique has a quilted look with a cutout to showcase a special photo.
**Objective:** Use the Grid Cutter and the Straight Edge Cutter to create decorative detail on your page.

This technique can be used to create horizontal or vertical decorative detail. The instructions in these video notes are for horizontal detail.

Insert Ribbon> Shape> Rectangle, make the width 6 inches and the height 6 inches, remove the Stroke, click Create.
- Position the rectangle vertically.
- Go to the Home Ribbon> Align> Center horizontally.
With the square selected, go to Cut Ribbon> Grid, select a 2x2 pattern, set the spacing to zero and click OK.
With the 4 grid cut squares selected, go to Cut Ribbon> Straight> Straight edge
- Make the Angle 45 degrees, Keep both areas> Cut.
- Keep all resulting shapes selected, go back to Cut Ribbon> Straight> Straight edge
- Make the Angle -45 degrees, Keep both areas> Cut.
Select the 4 triangles to the right side of the block, right click> Copy
- Right click> Paste.
- Position the copies to the right of the block.
- Right click> Paste.
- Position the copies to the left of the block.
Hold down the shift key, select the triangles that form the diamond pattern in the center of the left side of the quilted band and delete.
Insert> Empty frame. Use the Quick Access Toolbar to make the photo holder 6x12 (or 6x6).
- Right click> Order> Move to the back
- Fill with photo
- Position the photo holder to the left side of the page so that pertinent detail shows though the diamond cutout.
Add accent photos, papers, embellishments, journaling and a title.
