Photos and text can live in harmony. Simple shape editing techniques will create a stunning effect on your pages. **Objective:** Create a shape file from a live text box, a text shape, or word art and edit the shape to providing the perfect platform for a special photo.

Photo holder:

Add text (word art/text path/text shape) to the page and remove stroke, if necessary.
Select Text, go to Insert> Outliner to create a live editable shape.
- Delete the original text element.
Right click the Outliner shape> Fill> Convert to photo drop point.
- Fill with photo.
Right click the shaped text> Shape> Edit Shape
- Add a rectangle.
- Position and resize on one side of the shaped text.
- Add another rectangle.
- Position and resize on the other side of the shaped text.
- Click OK.

Mat layers:

Add a photo to the work space.
- Right click> copy.
Select the photo holder.
- Right click> Effects> Edit> Add an effect> Insert frame cutout mat.
  - Go to Mat fill> Paste.
  - Select desired area on the cutting board.
  - Click OK.
  - Adjust the width as desired.
  - Add an effect> Insert frame cutout mat.
  - Go to Mat fill> Solid Color >choose color> OK.
  - Adjust the width as desired.
  - Click OK to close the operations panel.
- Go to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT).
  - Adjust the Stroke size as desired.
  - Adjust the Stroke color as desired.
