This border formula is perfect for a special photo and your title. This is a great way to dress up your page while letting your photos stand out. Objective: Use shapes, embedded images and patterned strokes to create a decorative border for your pages.

Video Notes:

- - Insert> Content> Shape> Rectangle
    - Make the width 2.5" and the height 12.5"
    - Position strip on the left side of the page
      - Make sure the strip bleeds (hangs) off the page on both ends.
    - Click Create
  - Insert > Content> Shape> Ellipse/From an Art Kit
    - Choose desired shape and add to your page
    - Position shape toward the bottom of the strip
  - With the Ellipse/Shape selected, copy (CTRL-C) and paste (CTRL-V)
  - Select the copied shape first, then select the shape positioned at the bottom of the strip
    - Use the Alignment tools on the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) to center the shapes horizontally and vertically
  - Select the bottom Ellipse/Shape, go to the QAT> Stroke> Select a Stroke from an Art Kit
    - Select a basic Stroke.
    - Go to the elements panel, right click the bottom Ellipse/Shape> Stroke> Format
      - Format Stroke as desired using a patterned stroke (See related offerings below for details on how to format Strokes)
  - Select the top Ellipse/Shape
    - Go to the photos panel and click the drop down menu
    - Fill selected element with this photo
    - Use the cutting board to select area to fill Ellipse/Shape
      - Make sure to allow space for your title/word art
    - Click OK
  - Right Click Ellipse/Shape> Edit Image
    - While still in the the Image Editor (Embedded image), Insert> Content> Shape> Rectangle
      - Set Stroke to "None"
      - Fill as desired
        
        (Video shows shape filled with color sampled from photo)
      - Stretch rectangle over the portion of photo where title/word art will be placed
        
        Allow rectangle to bleed off the bounding box
        
        Extend rectangle to allow room for cutting
      - Click Create
    - While still in the Image Editor, select the rectangle
      - Go to Cut> Straight> Blended Edge
      - Separate the cut guides as desired
      - Position to achieve desired blend
      - Cut
      - Save
      - Click the "x" to close the embedded image.
  - Place text or word art on top of the blended area of the Ellipse/Shape
  - Fill the remaining areas of border with content
  - Add additional photos, content and story
