In cleaning out my Mom’s house this last year, I found so many cross-stitched projects I had made many years ago for her. And it got me thinking about the history of this craft that so many people did. The first fabric explicitly made for cross stitch was introduced in 1890. A company created it in Germany; the material is Aida; it is an even weave designed in little squares, making it easy to see where to stitch each cross. So it got me thinking that I bet there are many people out there that have these types of keepsakes or love a new texture to play with on their scrapbooking pages.
