Plush vs. Sherpa

Plush Fleece & Mink Sherpa: What's the difference? Is one better than the other? Which fits your needs? Let's dive in.

Plush & Mink Sherpa are two different materials, though both blankets are technically fleece. Because of this, printing the same image will yield different results.

With Mink Sherpa Blankets, the actual "sherpa" material that gives the blanket its fluffy, fuzzy appearance is on the backside, meaning it's not the side that's printed on. Mink Sherpa Blankets come with soft rounded corners, finished with a serge stitch for extra strength and stretch. With our Plush Fleece, the entire blanket is made up of the same soft, plush fabric on either side, with a 1" finished hem on all sides.

Because of this, we've found that colors are brighter on the plush, while images are sharper on the sherpa. The front of the sherpa is less "fuzzy," which is conducive to achieving a crisper image. But the thinner fabric of the plush is ideal for capturing vibrancy.

Neither blanket is "better." It depends on your style! If you're trying to showcase the vivid shades of a sunset, plush may be the choice for you. But if you're showing off those new professional photos you had taken, try sherpa! (It should be noted, however, that images printed on fabric will never be quite as crisp as what you see on your monitor!) Either way, as long as you don't get a "Low Resolution" warning, your blanket will print beautifully - no matter which you choose.
