How To: Create a Dream Board
By Alaina Duffy • April 15, 2022
The first step to achieving your dreams is to visualize them.
We all need direction, and that doesn’t appear out of thin air. Without goals, we’re directionless. The first step in knowing where you are is to imagine where you want to go. Dream boards are an exciting, tangible way to bring your goals to life.
I still have my dream board from high school; I think about one of my first and favorite images all of the time. It reads, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
I still live by this message today. Creating a dream board is an amazing way to help us figure out who we truly are.
Just like running a marathon, achieving your dreams is not always easy.
It takes planning, practice, and skill. You will get tired - you might even want to give up, but in the end, all your hard work will be worth it. It’s important to remember that, when you can see the finish line, you will want to cross it.
Beginning Your Dream Board
You will want to first gather all the materials you will need, such as:
- A large piece of poster board — white, colorful, it’s up to you!
- Scissors
- Glue
- Photos
- Memorabilia
- Magazine clippings
If you have a vision that you can’t find in a magazine, you can always create it in FOREVER Artisan and print it out. You can even draw something on your dream board! What you include is completely up to you.
Creating Your Dream Board
Get creative! There’s no one “right way” to do this. Consider making a night of it; teamwork makes the dream work. You can help each other visualize your goals.
Put yourself in a mindset that feels most authentic to you. Are you a movie lover? Turn on your favorite movie! Fan of music? Crank your favorite playlist. Prefer to work quietly? Set aside some you time.
If you can see it, you will believe it, and you will make it happen. The success of your goals and dreams begins with you.
So, start visualizing, get creative, and have fun!
