FOREVER Digitization Connection - Digital Transfers

By Alex Cybela

Greetings and welcome to this week’s edition of the FOREVER Digitization Connection! Today, we will delve into the process of digital transfers.

Digital transfers involve the migration of digital data from various platforms to your FOREVER Storage Account or a flash drive. We are equipped to handle transfers from a wide array of sources, including picture CDs, data discs, flash drives, external and internal hard drives (once removed from their original computers), 3.5" floppy discs, flash memory cards, smartphones, and digital cameras with internal memory cards.

Please ensure that all items sent for transfer are in operational condition. Our team can only transfer data from devices that are functional and readable by our systems. If the device cannot be powered on or read by our computers, unfortunately, we cannot transfer the data. If possible, please send in the original power cords with your digital transfer items. This will give us the best chance to access the data on these devices.

Additionally, we can only transfer file types that are compatible with our current system. Should there be files in formats outside the accepted types, our technicians will make every effort to convert them for transfer. However, please be aware that some file types may originate from obsolete software which is no longer supported, and thus may not be transferable. Below is a list of the accepted file types:

Photos & Documents: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .tiff, .tif, .webp, .pdf
Videos: .mp4, .avi, .mov, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv, .mkv, .m4v, .mts, .m2ts
Audio: .mp3, .m4a, .wma, .ra, .mka, .ac3, .aac, .ogg, .flac, .wav, .amr

With this information, you are now prepared to include your digital transfer items in your next digitization order!

Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to assisting you with your digitization needs. See you next week!
